Unlike a traditional liver biopsy, FibroScan® is quick, requires no sedation, and is completely painless. The procedure can be completed in just a few minutes, allowing our providers to diagnose and discuss your condition during the same visit.

What to Expect During Your FibroScan® Appointment?

• Fasting Requirement: To ensure accurate results, please fast (water is allowed) for at least 3 hours before your appointment.

• The Procedure: A small, non-invasive probe will gently press against the skin near your rib cage, measuring a 3 cm³ volume of liver tissue. This examination is 100 times larger than a typical liver biopsy, minimizing the risk of sampling errors.

• Your Results: During your visit, our providers will review and explain your results, enabling prompt and informed care for your liver health.
